Weather in Bangkok

Tuesday, September 26, 2017 04:02 PM

There are three major seasons in Thailand: The cool season, the hot season, and the rainy season. Depending on when you head to Bangkok to get dental work done, you may experience different weather. Knowing what to expect when may help make it easier for you to decide when the best time is for you to head to Bangkok to get work done.

Thailand’s cool season generally lasts from November to February, though it’s difficult to really call it “cool.” Thailand is situated near the equator, so temperatures generally remain hot throughout the year. However, temperatures do get somewhat lower by a few degrees in Bangkok during this time. High temperatures can be in the high 80’s or low 90’s during these months, while lows can get into the lower 70’s. Average rainfall in Bangkok is also at its lowest during these months, averaging a few inches or less. December and January are particularly dry, with rainfall only averaging a couple of inches for those months.

The hot season in Thailand is typically from March to June, and this is when things can get really steamy in Bangkok. High temperatures can reach the mid-to-upper 90’s, while lows usually don’t fall below 80. If they do, the lows are usually still in the upper 70’s. The rain also starts to pick up during these months, especially in May when it is not unheard of to average nearly 10 inches for the month. Still, this is not the rainiest season for Bangkok.

From July to October is Thailand’s rainy season. Temperatures in Bangkok are slightly less steamy than during the hot season, with highs in the lower 90’s and lows in the mid-to-upper 70’s. That is still quite steamy, though, so don’t expect too much relief from the heat. As for rainfall, these months certainly live up to being in the rainy season. This is especially true for September, which is typically the rainiest month for Bangkok. During this month, rainfall can average to around 15 inches for the month. October is only slightly better, with rainfall averaging around 10 inches for the month.
