Although the dental implants you receive in Bangkok are far less expensive than in Western countries, they are still an investment and as such you need to take proper care of them. The surgical team at PMDC will carefully install your dental implants but once you leave our clinic, the onus is on you to take proper care of them. Below, we offer a few quick post-procedure tips to ensure greater longevity for your new dental implants.
• Avoid Hot Drinks: You should not have hot drinks immediately after the procedure and you need to avoid solid food until the anesthetic has completely worn off. Don’t ‘swill’ liquid over the affected area and steer clear of any hot food or beverages for up to 24 hours after having your implants installed.
• Use Mouthwash: You will be given mouthwash after the procedure and you must use it as directed for up to a week. In most cases, this treatment consists of swirling the mouthwash around the site of the implants for 60 seconds. Do this three times a day for seven days.
• Improving Healing: While hot salt mouthwashes taste horrible, they are one of the most effective methods of healing the affected area in the first week after the implants have been installed.
• No Smoking: As well as being bad for your health in general, smoking also slows down the healing process. If you must smoke, wait until the wound in your mouth has completely healed.
At PMDC, our goal is to ensure your dental implant procedure in Bangkok is as successful as possible. While our team can perform the surgery to the highest possible standards, you need to follow the above advice for a faster and more pleasant healing process.
